I need a new friend that has the direct tv package. As Duke, UNC and State are all playing on Friday. I will bring my own beer and DD. I could even spare a few of the new or at least new to me Bucsh Ice. You will need to watch the game that is the best at the time or be able to watch two games at the same time. Bars are ok I just don't want one that will be packed. I am in the east Charlotte area or as we will be known of in 3 years Little Mexico.

i assume that these times are EST. the espn bracket does not elaborate.

    duke/mich. st @ 7:10 pm

    ncsu/wisconsin @ 7:27 pm

    unc/villanova @ 9:57 pm

wonder which 7 pm game the Raleigh/Durham affiliates are gonna air? can you say lose/lose situation?

I'm sure they will show the dook game. I wonder if the local station has the option to switch over if State is a better game? I doubt the dook game is a blowout either way so it will be a tough game to pull away from

i'm hoping that these cbs affiliates show both games. i dont know how the braodcasting rules work in this case but if they would be allowed to bend them a little it would be nice. around here, if channel 3 would air the duke game and 46 would air the state game that would work for everybody.........(hint, hint).

Hell No, this is the sweet 16. Pack on 3, Duke on 46, :supergrin I really don't care if they put us on cable access with Wayne and Garth doing play by play, as long as its on. Damn its been a long time.

On TV | Charlotte to get Duke, N.C. State

WBTV to air Devils, with Pack on WJZY for Friday regionals

    MARK WASHBURN

    TV/Radio Writer

    Sometimes, everybody wins.

ACC fans, some of whom hold strong opinions, have been puzzling since Sunday which game would be televised Friday night when Duke and N.C. State play at the same time.

After a day of negotiations Monday that stretched from Tobacco Road to CBS headquarters in New York, a split decision was reached in Charlotte:

    • WBTV (Channel 3) will air Duke against Michigan State, with coverage starting at 7 p.m.

    • WJZY (Channel 46) will carry N.C. State against Wisconsin, beginning at 7:27 p.m.

WBTV opted to pick up the Duke game because it starts first. It will broadcast North Carolina at Villanova at 9:57 p.m.

"It's a nice problem to have," said Mike Aresco, CBS Sports' senior vice president of programming, who has to decide which game to feed to the affiliates.

He's been to Charlotte many times and is familiar with the zeal of ACC fans.

"In cases like this, we try to find alternate clearances," he said, which is TV talk for a second station.

A similar arrangement has been worked out in Raleigh, where WRAL will carry the N.C. State game and its sister station WRAZ will carry Duke.

The lineup is still being sorted out in Greensboro and Wilmington
