artest seemed to have no problem keeping his cool when confronted with the much larger ben wallace. heck, he was SMILING when it was going down.

just like artest didn't think about consequences when he jumped into the crowd, i doubt the drunk idiot gave much thought to consequences when he lobbed his beer. i guess that means ron artest is about a level headed as a drunk idiot. i think it's appropriate that his boss told him to go away.

I guess that means that they should be pressing assault charges on that guy who lobbed the beer. That could've been career threatening what that fan did. And I would'nt sit there either with a fan throwing a cup of spit or shit on me. I wonder how long it's going to take for the NBA to make some security changes. Or will they let how big of a hit money wise affect their judgement. Have the Po Po brought any charges up??

honestly, i'm not certain the guy with the beer meant to throw it at artest. i mean, who would do that to a 6'8" raging maniac at point blank range? it's not beyond belief to think that the drink in his hand was blasted in the conflict. you can see it splashes around a bit before it's full unloaded. 240 pounds of mental illness will easily jostle 12 oz of beer.

stephen jackson wanted to fight somebody. he was bouncing around, tugging at his shirt the whole way. most everybody was trying to ease the situation and jackson was one of the guys that wanted a throw down. no way he was going into the stands to pull artest off of anybody.

assault? that would be pretty crazy. certainly whatever charge that applies should be applied, but i doubt it's assault.

if the NBA takes a money hit, the players take a money hit. it's not like the players are going poor taking their cut of the beer consession.

how many careers have been ended by a lobbed drink? and what is your fixation on cups of excrement? i'm not a fan of beer, but to liken it to feces and urine is a bit over the top.

you have to admit, the cup that was thrown at artest was hell of a throw. it sure as hell wasn't thrown by harrington.

you have to back it up and look at the entire sequence. artest gave wallace a cheap hard foul when the game had been decided. any player would have pushed artest for that. artest laid on the scoring table for a couple of minutes which I took as mocking wallace whom several players were trying to hold back from getting to artest.

artest's biggest problem was he went after the wrong guy. the guy he went after still had his cup in his hand. he is going to get some money.

the guy that was sucker punched on the court by o'neil was reportabley a ball boy....he had every right to be on the court.

this will be good for the nba in the end. they now have a heated rivalry that will go on for years.

as far as nhl fans are concerned...avs fans have been known to litter the ice and pelt opposing teams with beer bottles and garbage...shit being thrown on the opposing teams as they are leaving is nothing new...in any sport.

ESPN interviewed the guy that threw the cup. He is a convicted felon with 3 DUIs, with no alcohol as a parole condition. He is also a season ticket holder. The Pistons organization said "no more."

I would have had a problem throwing a $8 beer away... Isn't that a party foul?

Put the guy in jail. He deserves to be punished. It does not change the fact that Artest acted in a dangerous and inappropriate way and deserves his punishment too.
