basketball courts should be encased in plexi-glass just like hockey. keep the animals contained on the court and in the stands. it would also allow enough time to throw a few things at the players and get a head start for the exit. :xyzthumbs

They need to find out who was involved and prosecute them. Throwing things at players is not acceptable. You expect a player not to snap when it does happen though. It is not like Artest was actually injured by that cup.

I am just saying that your statement is not a justification for the players actions.

Those dumbasses probably got the tickets for free or from relatives/co-workers. The wrong people will be punished. I was happy to see the fines/suspensions levied against the players. $5.5 mill....santa is going to be a little thin this year round that hood. :xyzthumbs

sure it is...fans are not supposed to be on the court. the two guys that got punched in the face were going to the same thing. they just got it first.

players should not go in the stands. who knows what fans are carrying in their pocket these days, especially in detroit

It does not justify players going into the stands and possibly hurting innocent people.

i know that this is not the popular or probably the right attitude to have about this whole situation. but i cant find it in myself to lay all the blame on artest. yes he's missing a few brain cells but i can tell you that in the HEAT of the moment its hard to just turn it off. you wonder why these athletes and coaches blow up on reporters? you stick a mic in a guys face minutes after an event in which the testosterone is all jacked up and expect mr. nice guy? you question their judgement and second guess them right then and there?you take a guy who has just been punched in the face, choked and shoved around---he takes the high road and tries to cool off while all the fouls are sorted out and from out of the crowd comes a beer cup right on his face. even if i know the difference between right and wrong, sometimes you snap. these morons in the crowd all drunk and throwing things, comming onto the court are asking for it. they're asking for it. ron artest had had enough. i dont care what anybody says, this has been comming for a long time and now maybe something will be done about FAN BEHAVIOR at sporting events, include them all. if you want to drink, be a man and learn to hold your liquor....or at least keep it in the cup. artest will pay his price for his behavior but i wonder how many of these morons will, or will anybody learn a lesson about how to act in public. the ALCOHOL seems to be the main thread running through these sad affairs, anybody gonna address that one?
