Melissa Holden, 26, says she is still recovering after being punched in the eye by a Panthers cheerleader.

Holden waited five to 10 minutes to get into the bathroom at Banana Joe's, a Tampa night club. When she got inside, she said, other women in line were already yelling and banging on the door of two women who were in a stall together.

Holden said she saw two sets of feet but didn't know what the women were doing.

After a few minutes, Holden said, the women came out. A patron at the back of the line yelled at them for taking too long.

"Then the blonde girl just came up and hit me in the face with a closed fist," Holden said. "I didn't even have time to flinch. My head bounced one way, then the other.

"I still can't believe she hit me in the face."

Cheerleader Renee Thomas will be charged with one count of battery for punching a woman in the face, said police spokeswoman Laura McElroy. Fellow TopCat Angela Keathley was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer.

Holden, a registered nurse, said Thomas broke the skin over her cheekbone and her eye is almost swollen shut.

"It's embarassing," she said. "I have to go to work tomorrow."
