    You hear this rumor pretty much every year since around 1988.

    His wife seems to be pretty sick this time though.

    Just got tests back from the Mayo Clinic. Seems that things have gotten quite a bit better.

    As a Gamecock, I expect him to finish this season and next. Then he'll be gone.

    i think lou will be here 3 more years counting this year, then he'll turn it over to skip and move to some kind of advisory role.

    the rumor about him quitting started up because his wife was sick and he missed the flight to sec media day because of bad weather. a bunch of sherlock holmes' out there started putting 2 and 2 together and figured holtz had quit to be with his wife. in reality, the pilot didn't feel comfortable flying in the bad weather and holtz didn't want any chances. he already had one near death experience with planes so i can see how he'ld be hasty. the stuff with his wife turned out very positive. she had a battery of tests done at the mayo clinic last week and they turned up very positive. as long as she is healthy he will be here until the job is done.
