there's been some original movies that kicked ass recently. not everything is a shitty sequel or whatever in a crappy franchise.

Some of those are just awful candidates for a sequel, though. Awful.

Harrison Ford will be in it, though. I'm still trying to get used to Will Smith as Jim West.

The only movie I will go see in that list is Star Wars. And I may miss that if the third one, err, sixth one, is as bad as the last.

Yes, there is an audience. My friends hate to talk movies with me. I bash everything they go see. But it is all crap. There have been some good releases lately, but summer is coming and with it the mindless unoriginal action flicks. But I could care less. It's like cencorship on tv. If you don't want to see it you don;t have to. So I won;t.

Hollywood only speaks one language: Money. As long as the bulk of moviegoers remains fluffbrained teenage mallrats, expect more regurgitations of leftover ideas to pollute the theaters.

But on the bright side, the original creators will never give up or stop doing what they do. The good stuff will keep coming out, but it will be in the minority. It will be there, just a little harder to find.

yeah, i'm "the guy that hates everything". oh well.

just saw "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind". good flick. kaufman is a great screenwriter. didn't care much for being john malkovich(sp?) (but i dug the premise). adaptation was a great. this one was as well. didn't see human beings(?) (same director as eternal sunshine).

the thing is, movies are entertainment. you can't get pissed cuz people aren't making movies for you. it's the same with music. people say "music today sucks" -- which it does -- but that has to do with who you are and not what the music is. if the world was here to entertain me, i'd love it, but unfortunately (fortunately?) it isn't. instead, i share it with people who like britney spears (as more than a potential playboy spread) and scooby doo movies. i guess they have the right to enjoy themselves while they're here.
