are going to need new radio/TV announcers . . . . . Who wants to take bets that Gerry V will come back to town ? ?

 

For Gerry to come back to Charlotte he'll have to pull his head out of Shinn/Ridge's butt. That could take a while. Besides I don't think Bob likes kiss asses.

 

His wife is here, she doesn't want to move, If I'm Gerry, I'm trying to get back here, but I doubt he wants to start over with another expansion team.

 

The team makes the call on who gets to be there announcer . . . . As I've said before, I think WFNZ will become the flagship station for the team (its too logical . . ). WFNZ will finally get a stronger stick O-R they will simulcast the games on POWER 98 or V101.9 (The NHL Thrashers air their games on weak signaled 790 THE ZONE and a area FM adult contemporary station). GerryV & Packman on the same station? Hmmmmmmmmm . . . . I'm sure Packman would privately bitch about it, but he wouldn't be able to do anything (even DJ Stout couldn't nix this deal if Bob Johnson would want him).

Also remember guys, Mr. Johnson is going to start his new regional sports network for the team . . . He could always dangle this in front of GerryV (hosting a weekly NBA show and other programming) as a reason to come back home . .

 

Heard a rumor that GerryMe is on his way out of NOLA. Gerry5 and Allan Bristow do not see eye to eye. When Bristow was coach here he wouldn't let Gerry fly on the team plane...

Start over ? He ain't never been nowhere. He is about like Harold Johnson with his name dropping and downright lies. The "my sources" stuff over and over. he has never benn liked by anyone that can think for theirselves and he is the number one reason for turning the volume down in the past.

He's been a high school coach (Bishop McGuiness HS in Winston-Salem), college coach (Lenoir-Rhyne or maybe it was Gardner Webb ?), worked for sneaker company as an agent/sales rep, covered NBA basketball for over a dozen years, and you say he's never been nowhere ? ? ? Only reason why folks were turning him out here was because he was telling the truth about the whole Hornets situtation vs. just jumping on the 'Shinnridge Sucks!!!!' bandwagon like Packman was doing over at WFNZ (Oh yeah, Pack was saying that the Hornets weren't moving anywhere according to his NBA source, remember? Pack was wrong big time on that one . . . ).

When he was here at WBT, I'm fairly sure his show always had a bigger O-V-E-R-A-L-L audience than Packman's (while Packman did beat GerryV more times than not in the coveted Male 23-54 demographic . . . But of course, the boys at WFNZ always spun this as their show was kicking GerryV's ass . . . This would be like Iraq saying they kicked our ass in the last war because they inflicted heavy casualties on us in a couple of cities!!!!!!!!). WBT let GerryV go because they wanted to get out of the sportstalk biz with the Hornets leaving town, period. If the Hornets were still in town, I'm sure GerryV's show would still be popular (it was also shitty the way WBT didn't let GerryV do a final show as well, but I've already bitched about that before so I won't do it again . . . )

 

problem is he is white and johnson and co seem to really like hiring blacks.
