I can't believe you took Nebraska. Did they cover?

I got lucky by taking UVA. My wife's a UVA gal, and two of her friends are from WVU. Couldn't bet against UVA then, though that's the way I was leaning. Glad I listened to my wife.

 

First time all year. I was suprised.

I dunno about the skill position part. We have tons of speed, but we are talking Freshman and Softmores. That's the tale on TN season, injuries and underclassman.

 

Don't laugh too hard - I had Ole Miss in the bowl pool, but changed my mind and bet on Nebraska at gametime. Then Nebraska blew chunks. I did not see the second half of that game, but I thought for sure they would run Ole Miss over. Plus there were rumors about Eli, etc. Just a stupid, stupid bet.

Humongous (is that a word?) bowl pool here at work. 23 games total starting with the BC game. We are talking 4-digit numbers to the top 4 finishers. 7-2 so far. I wish I had bet most of them, but I took most of the week off to enjoy the holidays without the stress involved in gambling. I am, of course, kicking myself. Winning games does not involve stress.

Winners:
BC, Pitt, UVA (Next year's ACC champs I think. I was really wrong about them this year.), Wake, Minny, Okie St., Ole Miss

Losers :
Colorado, Kansas State

Today:
Boise, Fresno (this will lose now), Purdue, TCU, MD, Va Tech

Fla, Texas, NC St., Penn St., Okla, UGA, Iowa, Miami

If I blow chunks from here on out, it was fun waking up today thinking I at least COULD win that pool.

Edit: There is a "rule" my friends and I follow for bowl games that has pretty much played out BIG time this year. Dogs early, favorites late. All the decent sized dogs have covered. UCLA covered, but they damn sure shouldn't have. Also, the only bet I have in today is the OVER in the Boise game going on right now.

 

hmm government workers and illegal gambling.

Just wanted to update my earlier post about the pool.

If anyone is looking for a reason to pick a team to root for tonight, look at it this way...

You can be for me (Iowa) or agin' me (USC).

If Iowa and Miami cover, I'll be like crazy.
