I forgot to post this last week, but I ran into Chris Leake at the Gainesville airport last Tuesday. Since we are both Big I grads, we chatted for a few. He seemed pretty happy down there and really wants to start, but said he wouldn't sweat it if he didn't. He said he has a very good shot, though.

Oh yeah, I damn near forgot. Florida sucks.

if chris leak is florida's starting qb as a true freshman they are in trouble imo. can you remember a true freshman starting at qb for any team that hasn't had their season fall apart?

Rivers is the one that came to mind for me too. I'm guessing there are others out there too, but I sure as hell can't think of any right now. Plus, Rivers came in early didn't he? Tough for a kid to play QB right off the bat.

what was nc state's record in river's freshman year? who did he beat? and how did he do against florida state? florida has to win 9 or 10 games including a win over fsu for their fans to be happy and there's no way in hell a freshman can do that with their schedule that includes fsu, @maimi, tennessee, @lsu, @arkansas, and georgia.

and like some of you said already (which i didn't know), rivers came in during the winter which is huge for a quarterback to be able to go through a spring practice.

also, i'd like to add something about mario williams. i saw him in the shrine bowl and he couldn't be stopped all day. it was amazing. there was some clemson o-line prospect(marion dukes) that kept getting his ass whipped play after play by williams. it was getting comical. another guy eric young, considered one of the best o-line prospects in the country, and williams just knocked him on his ass one time. after that young put up and ok fight but he was really struggling with williams. young ended up signing w/tennessee so lucky for him he won't have to face williams again unless they meet in a bowl.
