Are you talking about the Barry that took all those injections in the ass, or Barry Bonds?

I know that he is gonna pass Aaron, just to spite people. If he has any good taste in him at all he will retire. His agent said he is playing in 2007 so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it and ends up with 760 something, but I never thought I would be rooting on Alex Rodriguez, and I think it will be easier for Rodriguez to go after the record cause everyone in America is going to be behind him, and 5 years later, behind Pujols. Good luck to A-Rod. He tied Dave Kingman at 442 Home Runs on Saturday with 2 bombs, and should get 500 Home Runs at age 32.

I don't think he makes it to Aaron. His body is already beginning to betray him. He still has the swing, but that knee will only get weaker and his elbow is giving him problems. At his current pace, he will end this season with 730, 22 HRs for the year, and 25 short of Aaron.

I agree. No way he plays in the NL next year (contract over after this one) so he would have to be a full time DH. His knee and elbow are shot, and other5 than selling a few more tickets what team needs the headache of the circus he brings. Passing Babe was more important than passing Aaron to him. I could see him walking away after this season especially since no one would give him the kind of money he would want as a DH

Scott Boras I believe is his agent, and says he's playing through 2007. If he hits 20 more homeruns this year, and then hits 20 more next year then he has it. I wouldn't put it past him to do it at all. He won't be straining to break Ruth anymore and there won't be that much attention on him the rest of the season. For Baseball's sake let's hope he doesn't break the record. Albert went yard for his 226th of his career. To early to tell with him, but he could be jacking his 300th homer at the age of 27 next year, and in only his 7th MLB season.

Babe Ruth ,Bonds ,and Hank aint shit compared to Josh Gibson.Im sure all these folks who cry about the integrity of the game dont want to exclude the real home run King...Josh Gibson's Negro League record of 84 home runs in one season and 962 lifetime.

962 lifetime...fuck Bonds Hank and Babe Ruth!

I hear you. I love reading about the negro leagues and everyone raves about Gibson. He was a beast. It was a shame he couldn't play in the majors and that due to mental illness he died way to early (38 I think)

And the only reason passing Ruth was an issue is because Ruth is White and Barry Bonds is Black, and there is no bigger racist in baseball than Barry Bonds. I don't see Barry walking away because of money, he is too self-driven and feels like he has something to prove. He grew up in the shadow of two famous father figures. He won't give up until his body breaks down completely.

He just stated that he was willing to talk about steroids and HGH if the conversation was never released and it was sealed...The only person who says something like that is someone who is guilty as sin
