here are the forum rules on a "less leniant" message board

For obvious reasons, a lot of you were not happy with how poorly the team played. As a result, we allowed people a little more leeway to vent their feelings. Sometimes this went as far as "bashing" a player or coach which we usually don't allow. It's Wednesday so you've had plenty of time to get it out of your system. That means the regular rules will now be enforced.

Our moderators are chomping at the bit to clean up this board. If you don't want to lose your posting privileges then you might want to think twice about attacking a player or a coach in a post, insulting other posters, hijacking threads with whatever your agenda is or obsessing over some issue by starting multiple threads on it.

On bashing, we aren't talking about having an open discussion about how a player is doing on the field or decisions being made by a coach or coaches, we are talking about getting personal about it. That includes saying somebody "sucks", needs to be "fired", etc. You've had several days to spew your venom but now it's time to reel it in.

On hijacking threads, some of you are so obsessed with an issue or two that you interject your thoughts in threads that have nothing to do with the subject being discussed. And it's usually a point you've made over and over in other threads. Put a sock in it. All you are doing is ruining the thread and irritating everybody.

On insulting posters, again just don't make it personal. Calling out anybody by name is a no no! That's an easy way to get bannned. Also, don't use any derogatory terms towards somebody ("you are a moron", "you are clueless", etc.). It's pretty simple, if you don't agree with somebody's opinion don't take it personally.

Finally, there are a few of you that love to "stir the pot". These people are careful to not break rules but they do everything possible to start knock down drag outs on the boards by constantly starting controversial subjects, needling posters into arguments, and hijacking threads. Your days are numbered. These boards are supposed to be fun places and you are ruining it for everybody. If you keep it up you will be gone.

Funny how the same kids who are always wanting to smoke dope and screw everything in sight without 'the man' coming down on them are the first in line to impose martial law over freedom of speech. Young people suck!
