Was last season subpar? Would this season have been subpar with Hartwig and Wharton starting just half of the games this season? Perhaps, but maybe not. If we're firing Henning for a subpar season, I'm sure Trgovac is right behind him.

2005? Sure. Good passing game, bad running game. A bunch of one yard TDs that helped out a lot because people were holding Smitty.
2004? Sure. Good passing game, bad running game.
    2002? outright poor. 2006? poor.

    Trgovac's units finished 8th.

I'm not saying I'd have fired Henning outright, but changes needed to be made.

I'm wondering who was making the decisions on which Offensive Lineman to draft? and if we we're drafting them poorly or coaching them poorly? maybe Mathis gets the shot in the ass he needs now, or maybe takes a damn walk out of Charlotte.

A question...Fassel was let go in Baltimore this past season, right? Billick took over play calling duties there if memory serves.

If so, does anyone REALLY want Fassel?

that's all I took it as. I think once he sees the money he'll have to give back, and that he's close to 1000 recs, he'll return. If not, it's his decision, and therefore we get money back.

    Interesting, thanks.

yeah, that's a big part of it. Pro Bowl RB never hurts either.

This year, it seemed it was "OK run the WR screen...wait, that didn't work. Let's try it a couple more times. OK, I guess that doesn't work, we'll start that again next week. Let's run. Wait, that didn't work. Let's try it a couple more times. OK, I guess that doesn't work, we'll start that again next week. OK, let's try something new. What's that? a first down? Wow. Let's chuck it deep."

Sure, I guess. His problems running Lewis enough were mildly concerning, but the end result is that they didn't get that much better with Billick calling the plays. He and Skipper are from the same basic system, Skipper being a guy who Fassell scapegoated years before he did it to Sean Payton (oops...and remember when I suggested bringing that guy aboard?), and before Billick did it to Fassell, so I don't think Skipper is much less of a choice than Fassell. The downside is that for all real purposes, Henning was also the QBs coach, and any guy who's OC needs to be able to figure out our QBs.
