Jerry fired his redneck sons because both were fairly worthless--Mark in particular--and hired Morrison, whose role is to run the business end of the team with a little more focus and dignity. I have no issue with that move.

Jerry fired Fox because Fox wanted Andy Reid money as a .500 coach. Can't blame him there, either.

Honestly, it might just be best to take a year off, for everyone's sanity and health.

    Well, yes.

And if he wants to run his franchise into the ground as he whizzes all over the fans in Charlotte like a dog at a hydrant I have no problem with that. This board cried all year about it.

But I'd rather he didn't take that shitty attitude and apply it to the entire NFL because he's pissed about his luxury box deal and thinks a player should be able to buy a franchise after three years since that player is paid so much.

Really, I'm cool with him just fucking up his own franchise.

But he sure told that uppity Manning guy off though. That's what's really fucking important.

I know the difference between Profit and Revenue. I also know that in order to post a profit, you need enough revenue to cover your costs, and then some. Just because replacement players will cost much less, they also equate to much lower revenues because people won't be flocking to the stadiums to see crap football. The UFL just reported that it lost $35 million last season and they were paying most of those players peanuts to get their heads bashed in. They can't even make payroll. Just because they have nice shiney new stadiums and a shield on the 50 yard line doesn't mean that the fans will shell out the dough to watch it. The last time the NFL tried to use replacement players was a disaster and they know it.

The owners need the players and the players certainly need the owners. The thing is, the owners are set up to weather the work stoppage storm much better than the players. Hell, almost 8 out of 10 NFL players ends up broke within 10 years of retirement anyway. Once these guys start missing their Lambo lease payments, they'll come crawling back. And the owners know that.

I am starting to warm up to the idea that JR really does want a cancellation of the 11 season. Breaks the Union to bits, Writes his own CBA, and gets 2 #1 picks out of the deal... I bet when a CBA is reached about this time next year his quote is "Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!"

It's undeniable that JR, of all owners, stands to lose the least and gain the most by a year off. I truly still think he wants to win a title, for the fans and for his own efforts. And, in his mind, I think he's of a mindset that a year off is for the best. He sure as hell won't be in any hurry.

Um, no I won't forgive you. Kinda makes me want to kick you in yours.

If it blew up in his face, it's going to hurt us. I don't get it.

I don't give a fuck about the Panthers. I care about the NFL.
