Wallace has nothing to do with the comparison.

Just saw this on another forum.

Can't find anything else backing this up, but I sure hope it's true. Decent deal too.

$10 mil a year is reasonable. I was worried (if it's true) that they'd throw much more at him.

I still haven't seen it anywhere, so this doesn't appear to be true. $10 million a year seems too light anyway. Rotoworld does say that Dallas, Orlando, Milwaukee, Detroit, Miami, Portland and Golden State all contacted Wallace.

Dallas, Miami, Portland and Golden State can only offer the midlevel exception I think, so they'd have to swing some kind of sign and trade deal to get him.

The Pistons and Bucks are both more worried about signing their big name free agents. Orlando would be dangerous because they have a lot of room, but they're really trying to get Lewis.

Not that ESPN Insider is the end all for information but doesn't it seem like a good thing there is nothing about Gerald Wallace. No visits to another team. NOTHING. Maybe they are just hammering out details since we still have a few days before they make anything binding.

Heard (or read ... can't remember which) somewhere that the Bobcats are optimistic that a deal will be done by weeks end.

from hoops world which really means nothing...

League sources have indicated that the Charlotte Bobcats may be close to agreeing to contract terms with Gerald Wallace. Although exact details of the deal are not yet known, the contract is believed to be worth more than $60-million dollars.

Free agents cannot officially sign their new contracts until Wednesday.

The Bobcats have maintained that re-signing Wallace is the priority of their offseason.
More on this story as it develops.

Well at least we haven't heard of anybody else being close to a deal.
