Whats the speculation on the draft pick? I believe that NO was thinking of releasing Gandy a little while ago so they got some value, but I could be wrong. Atlanta is itching to win now apparently as they are not afraid to deal draft picks for players that will provide immediate impact.

Speaking of NOs pick at #2, could someone please explain the thought process of drafting Mario with their first pick? He's one of a kind, but they have already invested so many first rounders in DL.

Atlanta had a huge hole at LT after letting Schaffer go. I read they tried to trade with the 9ers for Kwame Harris.

Gandys getting old and Scott wasnt doing a whole lot. I doubt the pick is that high to worry about. Probably a 6 or 7.

NO now have a hole at LT. And nobody can stop them from getting Brick.
Brown could slide over but what better way for a new HC to start. Brand new QB and bookend tackles for the next 10 years. If they still had Bentley they'd be fearsome.

I cant, they already have two great DE's. It'd be a waasted pick IMO.

But i guess some of it may have stemmed from the Julius Peppers references and their familiarity of playing against that kinda freakish player.

I do not think they will take Williams. If they did it would be because they view him as the BPA and adopt that philosophy.

They could also trade down a bit more and take Justice.

They very well could, using Brick as the bait.

    Granted, it's odd.

And yeah, if we get worried every time another team picks up a good free agent or a solid draft pick, we'll be fairly unhappy people.

Everybody gives their best effort to improve in the offseason, and in general, most succeed. You just have to hope you're one of the teams that improves more than others (or was significantly better to start with).
