As a christian you should have supported Bush for no other reason than he is likely to appoint some supreme court judges.

I agree he's more likely to appoint Christian-friendly judges, but there's a lot to overlook, too. Too much for me.

Thelt, serious question. I know many people I consider true Christians. They are people of deep faith, reverance and moral exemplars in how they live their lives. I respect and love many of them. I would say of those that I would consider in that manner, the split politically is around 50/50. Are you saying to be a true Christian, one must also vote Republican?

What would he say to evil dictators? This God would not justify 15,000 or more deaths.

How did Christ justify WWI WWII Korea Viet Nam ?
How did Christ justify French war ?
How did Christ justify NAPELON ?
How did Christ justify HITLER ?
How did Christ justify Civil war ?
How did Christ justify Mexican war ?
How did christ justify roman empire ?

15,000 is small compared to all the above

God does not justify, He told you there would be wars and rumors of wars

Absolutely not. I do have a problem with people who claim to be a christian and support abortion. Political parties are irrelevant but I do not see how anyone who claims to follow Jesus can support abortion.

What is there to overlook that compares to the USSC appointments? We are talking about 1.3 million lives lost each year.

This passage is here is why I finally decided to speak up in the Miss T thread HB. I've seen you say it before so I know you understand what I was getting at. The part about everything around us being temporal? The motivations? The part about starting at the bottom? That's all I was asking from everyone else.

Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there. I feel like I got off on the wrong foot with you in that particular thread.

Honestly nothing, which is why the abortion issue is one I use to 'narrow the field' of political options. But as important as this issue is (and I wish the president was as passionate about it as he is about marriage), there are other things to consider, too. Pro choice doesn't make the rest of the picture go away, at least not for me. There were just too many things he'd done and was doing that I couldn't swallow.

I have no desire to argue his merits or lack of them but the thought of John Kerry picking supreme court judges was more than enough reason to vote for Bush for me.

Not at all, KS. We're cool as far as I'm concerned. :)

There are still several people who don't understand why I finally decided to ask Larry to ban Miss t. I want people to understand my true motivations, as well as my desire to have her back. The truth is, she's only banned as long as she wants to be. I'm hoping she'll change her mind. :(
