Honestly, there has to be some reason coaches are shying away from this job. I know the usual agruments but there has to be something more. Alabama is not a 'bad' job. Hell just for the money alone.

because coaches are the only ones smart to realize they will be second fiddle to Bear Bryant. It's going to take another 25 years before a coach can get out from the shadow of Bear. Still way too many poweful alum that played or coached for Bear and remember how Bear used to do it.

I have heard that argument but WTF. What? Does a whole generation of Bama fans have to die before you get past the past?

BTW, I think the Bear would be in the same situation in this day and age. He didn't coach in the pro-college football game we have today.

.0001 percent of Bama "fans" actually have any real say in what happens. That .0001 is damn powerful. That .0001 percent knew what it was like to the KING and no one could touch them. Why would anyone who has been there not want to go back? Like I said, it's probably going to take another 25 years before that changes. NO ONE is going to come to ALabama and get the stadium renamed after them.

So the .00001%, obviously unknown to them, have made the position so undesirable they can't find a coach. Time to get rid of that .0001%.
