Okay. What's the verdict? Just from the previews, it doesn't look very appealing. With the exception of the guy playing Shaggy, I think the casting looks pretty awful.

    yeah...

...its not as bad as I would have thought... and I'd say its an OK movie... but more of a rental than an evening out

  3. Yeah, it looks really, really, really, really, really, really bad. None of the casting is any good. Shaggy is sorta okay, but he's too bulky. He looks like he could kick Fred's ass. And the chick playing Velma is a knock-out. What gives?

I guess I'm one who is not too wild on tampering with the original cartoons, etc., mainly because the remakes usually come out so, so bad. I'm having a hard time trying to accept Freddie Prinze as "Fred" in this movie. That's quite a stretch, wouldn't you say? And what about Scooby looking like a stuffed animal? That's just awful. I don't think I want to even waste money renting this. Think I'll wait until it comes to cable on FOX, TBS, etc.

Yeah I went in with the attitude "Ugh this is gonna suck" (I was forced to watch by a girl)... Anyways that may be why I liked it... since I expected it to suck and it turned out slightly better then it seemed somewhat good...

BTW -- Mr. Bean is in it.
