Don't forget that Jordan was "retired" for that year.

I hear Ray Ray is wanting to hire one of the old Hawks coaches that he's friends with or something like that.

What Ray wants and what Geroge does will be two different things entirely.

...and what a disgrace that was. Those close to the situation in Orlando know Penny was the cancer on that team. Shaq is very fond of Brian. When the Lakers were here, Shaq made it a point to seek Brian out to say hello. Hill was not the problem in Orlando. The owner made a foolish decision to get rid of Hill and keep PH. How many finals did they reach after Brian left? Did changing coaches keep PH around? Or Shaq? The situation in Vancouver was a death trap for any coach who would have been there. I can't judge him on that.

    Harvey,
Silas is a good coach - especially for a young & developing team. He was instrumental with Erob, Baron & Ricky Davis. Elden will always be an anomaly. D-dub used to the Hornets main PG...Haston is a waste, as is Drew. One pick ahead of Haston, was Richard Jefferson.
I don't think Hill will do any better. You'll probably make the playoffs, with or without Baron. Without Baron, you won't go far. With the full team, you have a chance in the East. Magloire was one of my favorites.
As LJ pointed-out, game 6 vs. the Bucks...we blew a 15 point lead. Paul took the timeouts. The players did not get it done. Missed many close shots, and Ray Allen didn't. I sat close enough to Wayne Newton to touch that "hair" of his.

If Shinnridge are smart, they'll keep Paul & Co for the rest of the season. Make a decision after the year, it's cheaper that way. You'll get used to that, too.

I believe that, but this isn't a young & developing team. This is a veteran team who was considered by many one of the teams to beat in the East. Many media types picked them to make a run at the Finals. I don't see that happening and it's not all because Baron's hurt. Paul would be good with an expansion team or a young up and coming team. Thats not us though.

I've been hearing about this "cheap" thing, but so far, everything they have done here has been first class. Sometimes people get married and make terrible spouses the first go round. The second marriage, they somehow become model spouses. I hope thats whats happening here. George and Ray have no excuses here. They are profitable and will continue to make money. I don't want to get into the NO versus CLT thing again, but the reason they moved wasn't about attendance, etc. as much as it was about profitability. I know no one in CLT wants to hear that, but if you're not making the kind of money you need, it's hard to spend the bucks on the other end.

I think the PG thing was bad judgement by Bass, not the organization being cheap. Everyone makes mistakes. Overall, you have to admit that BAss has done a good job of acquiring talent. I know D-Dub played PG in the past and Bass figured he could back up BD. He figured he'd have a max salary and budding superstay in BD playing most of the time and DW having to spell him from time to time. With Baron down, DW has had to play too much PG which hurts him on the offensive end. They basically admitted this by having to go out and sign Pack so they could get DW back to the 2 spot. We need him to score, not run the offense. I can't say this was a matter of being cheap, they commited 85M to Baron.

Good luck with your new team PR!!! You guys deserved to get a new team as quickly as you did.
