    I'd have honestly been OK with reaching for Weddle in the first. I'd have been happy reaching for Wendling in 3 and he hasn't even done anything. To grab a guy in the 5th, and then pay him starter money when we proves he's a player, that's good stuff. That's better than what I'd have found acceptable above.
    Had we locked up Peppers when we wanted to, and then Gross behind him, we'd be in a lot better shape than we are.

    Harris > Roy Williams...especially for a 5th rounder. I'm glad he will be here awhile.

    I am fine with Harris but we were very lucky to get him for what we did. Get another guy of comparable quality and we are in good shape at safety. Harris is not good enough to pair with a scrub and be OK though.

    agent says $13.3 million over the total of five years, so the bonus starts counting from now. He got $2 mil now, and $1 mil will come in 2009, so it's not like we give up that much up front.

    I don't know how we could afford not to do that.
