    Glad they signed him for a few more years. One of the better pickups they've made in the last couple years.

    yeah I'll take that. Be nice to add a little to Davis, but if Gamble is in their plans long term he needs to be locked up.

    $3 mil for a starting safety in this market is still cheap.

    At 4 years, ~12 mil, and spreading what I expect will be a $3-4 mil bonus across 2008 and the four years up to 2012, this is pretty low risk really.

    That or we could pay Roy Williams $7 mil next year to do the same thing and be older.

    I am glad they locked him up. He is the only safety we have that is worthy of starting in the NFL. He is good in run support. If we paired him with a guy who could cover a little then we might be good at in the secondary.

    I really do like Harris. I just don't think you give him a four-year extension. He's a solid safety, but is there really much of a ceiling? I don't see it.

    I am willing to overpay a bit to keep a solid safety back there given our complete lack of investment in the position under Fox.
