Bledsoe wouldn't cost them as many picks, but LOTS more $$$.

I think Bledsoe is more of a possibility, but it depends on the direction the teams is taking. If they are regrouping for the future (which I would think that would be the path Buffalo would chose), why not start with your QB. They have some solid young defensive players as a base, they need some O-line and a QB.
Bledsoe, however, is an instant fix.

I say we swap picks with Denver and they give us Greise for Weinke.

We can't draft a QB in the 1st round and keep Weinke. But, I do have a concern Weinke will last the season. Just my opinion, but we better be prepared to see a pretty good Panthers team take the field without QB Weinke at some point.

A good Panther team? I'm not sure I am prepared for that. It's been a while.

I, for one, am not getting to worked up about the Panthers being a contender just yet. 2002 is about improvement to me. 2003 is when I expect we will become a playoff caliber team.
I don't expect much better than 6-10, with a new system and lots of new faces, it will take time for things to gel.

  5. I had heard we switch spots with Buffalo, in exchange for their 2nd round pick. We'd still probably get either Jammer or Peppers, for less $. Could we get value with our second at DE if we took Jammer with #4? Would Fox/Hurney go RB with Buffalo's pick? Or ?

Any other "trade-up" rumours? Expecting a "draft day deal"? Or once Houston signs Carr, that we cut an early deal with Peppers OR trade the pick?

Magnus & Piper, I really appreciate the insight you guys provide - I read your posts a great deal - can't really contribute much since I can't contradict your logic. Keep up the great work!

I think that ones still in the rumor stage, but it is one trade scenario that would make sense. I hope it is true, but I haven't seen anything from a reputable source that wuold make me believe it's a done deal. Just post on message boards with no source.

Anyone been over to the charlotte.com board? They're fucking SOLD on Harrington coming to the Cats. They're talking about how the deal's been done and the line's been signed.

As far as what i think, I'm hoping that this is just the smokescreen Fox should ahve been putting up since day one. Harrington is great and all, but he's not what we need worst.

  8. I've sworn off the Charlotte.com board - was lowering my IQ on every post I read.

    :p

I don't think we could sign Harrington, until Carr has been signed. The Texans announcement of "intent", to my knowledge, is non-binding - and I'm not aware that they've officially signed him. So, doubtful we could have already signed Harrington.

Agreed with Mark - get some bytes on the second pick...

not really. Other than volume of posts it's not like there's much of anyone or anything I'm missing that much.
