guess okc didn't wanna risk him going into the last year of his contract without an extension. rockets will undoubtedly offer him the max contract okc didn't.

okc gets kevin martin and jeremy lamb. other filler players included, but those are the significant parts.

guess we'll see whether harden is a legit star on his own. rockets look like they're in the "buy high" business.

Bummer. He was one of the only good players Charlotte might have had a chance to get in free agency.

well, he hasn't been extended yet, so i suppose the chances of charlotte getting him are still about the same.

He wanted more than the 11 million a year that OKC offered. I can`t see Jordan offering him what he wanted.

Harden wanted a max deal and Charlotte would have offered it, as would a bunch of other teams. Now he'll get slightly more than the change-team max from Houston.

We'll see if he can carry a team (primary scorer) instead of being instant offense

assuming he resigns with the rockets. i've heard he really wants to play in phoenix, but maybe that will change in the post-nash era.

unlike okc, i would imagine houston matches any offer sheet he gets from other teams, so i suppose this locks him up tightly unless he simply takes the rockets qualifying offer and plays for 1 more year to become an ufa (that's still an option in the new cba, right?).

yeah, he reminds me a bit of joe johnson in that regard. with the suns, johnson was a great 6th man and alternate ball handler and highly sought after in free agency. same kind of player, in some regards as a bigger guard who could kind of make plays for people.

i suspect they may be end up with similar fates. really good player, but not exceptional.
