    Hey I like mindless entertainment as much as the next guy (observe my post count) but All in the Family was damn near ground breaking and M*A*S*H's finally is STILL the highest rated and most watched show ever. Opinions are nice but numbers don't lie

    The Super Bowl is THE most-watched event of any year, but that doesn't mean it's any good.

    It's an opinion, and sure the consensus may be that those other shows were better, but that doesn't mean they were. It just means people think that way.

    True. But, there's a difference between opinion and fact. Of course when it comes to entertainment folks seem to take opinion as fact most of the time.
    Like saying Chris Christopherson is a good singer. Hell, you and I both know he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

    opinion taken as fact is called perception. you give me those 3 shows i'll pick Happy Days. I think that Happy Days was a much better show. as an entertainment employee I see the importance of the other two but good god I dont hear anyone arguing that Porter's The Great Train Robbery (first film to use editing for intercut action sequences) or The Titanic (highest grossing) is the best movie ever.
