Here is a decent little article with a blurb on Lawson:

(Post from another site that I thought was an interesting read.)

I was looking into this and here are some stats from the last few draft cycles:

    2005
26 players withdrew from the draft after "testing the waters", most of them Juniors from mid-major programs, but some familar names like Dee Brown, Torin Francis, and Kevin Pittsnogle.
Out of the 26 testers, only Dee Brown was picked the next year and the only reason he came back was an injury. Also on the list were high schoolers Brandon Rush a lock for the 2008 1st round and Keith Brumbaugh, who might be picked this year.

    2006
Another 26 "tester", again mostly juniors. Unlike the previous year, 4 players were actually picked in the 2007 draft:
    Morris Almond #25
    Aaron Afflalo #27
    Nick Frazekas #34
    Aaron Gray #49
Richard Roby is projected as a 2nd round pick this year.

    2007
28 testers, all but 2 were Juniors
Based on draft projections, Brandon Rush, Roy Hibbert, and DeVon Hardin are the only ones expected to be selected.

So in the past 3 years, 78 players (not counting Rush twice) have returned to school, but only 10 have been drafted (or are expected to be) with only 4 of those (Afflalo, Almond, Hibbert, Rush) in the first round.

In other words, "testing the waters" does not significantly "improve your stock" during future drafts. Perhaps it is enought to move a top 2nd round pick to bottom 1st at best. History says you are not going to move from 2nd or undrafted to a lottery pick.

Danny's father says he won't go unless he is a first round pick (guaranteed contract).
From the mock drafts I've seen, Danny isn't even listed in the second round right now. I guess this could change with a good pre-draft camp, though.

Danny Green being a first round pick is about as unlikely as Stepheson being a lottery pick.

    ^^ Agreed.
So, I'm guessing he'll be back.

If Ellington is making the same statement, he'll be back too.

Stephenson is expected to go between 3-5 per Collin's sources.

Now now. Don't think like an average joe. You should think at a higher level instead of just settling on the obvious conclusions.

Yeah, I didn't like the article, actually. Seems like Danny's father has taken a lead role in the 'Danny Green for the NBA' campaign. I understand a father being supportive, but I think he's a bit over the top right now.
