Le Flors tosses a pass, which turns out to be a lateral/backward pass, out to Karl. He misses the catch and then just stands and watches P'burgh recover and advance the ball. No hustle at all. How much does this influence the keep/cut decision?

can't imagine very much since he only sees the field as a receiver if Smith, Key, Colbert and Hill all have their heads severed.

I don't think it will, but it does certainly leave a bad taste in my mouth (STFU). Generally, every year Hankton has made 3-4 catches that weren't bad, that got first downs against scrub players, and did enough. Whether that was a formality or honestly bore on the coaches is hard to say, but I still have a hard time believing they'll cut him.

I also have a problem with the call - whether it's practice or not, Hankton has no reason to be receiving a WR screen. He's the least able in short range acceleration and elusiveness of anyone we have. Even Key technically has the burst to pull it off.

I think they look at him as a starter, just a starter on special teams kinda like Kasay or Baker.

I don't agree - they'd have to lose their hands as well.

    It was a terrible throw.

But yes, Hankton is not a good WR. He even looks bad during pregame warm-ups. And he's getting old. I like Karl, but things change and you have to move foward.

Actually it's harder getting up off the ground when you get older not moving forward. Believe me.
