yes, the new teams have won a "few" games and fsu had a good run that first season but eventually they all take their place behind the teams from tobacco road. its much ado about nothing. a loss here, a loss there, it happens. the thing i like about college hoops is march madness, nothing else matters.

 

that's not really true, otherwise nobody would go to the games and get fired up like they do...football needs playoffs.

But just assume that dook is really good. Maryland swept dook and State killed Maryland. Therefore, UNC's stomping of State proves that UNC is really, really good.

 

i know what you mean.......and i do agree that football needs playoffs. but the regular season does not carry the weight that the big dance does. how many times have we seen a great regular season go by the wayside when the march madness pressure cooker gets going. before the ncaa field was expanded to 64 the acc regular season champs were back to zero once the acc tournament began. lose one game and a first place regular season record is reduced to bragging rights only. this cost dean smith and the tarheels many trips to the ncaa tourny. in college hoops march madness is everything and i love it, especially the first weekend.

 

Wait -- I thought you said Duke beating UNC matters. Now it's March? Make up your mind!

 

When do we play UNC again?

Larry the league looks beatable but only within the league. No one from outside the league has stepped up to do it. Except Illinois.

 

The 4 losses this month is what he is trying to avoid. But you know if the shoe was on the other foot he would be all over it. It's funny that he can crow about the wins this month. :xyzthumbs
