What's happening in the US in they way of 'hardcore' punk? Excuse the expression, you may not like it or agree with it. What I'm talking about here is bands like Fleshies, Panthers, even stuff like Star Spangles (omitting the 'The' where necessary!). I've had enough of this pop-punk shit that the media is trying to force-feed me. I need your reply to to be Kazaa-friendly unfortunately!

I think everything popular here is pop punk. Some of it ain't even punk.

    Warped Tour is coming through.

    Best bands IMO on it.

    Rancid - of course
    Dropkick Murphys
    Suicide Machines
    AFI

Every other band is like Sum 41 and Blink bands.

The two best bands we seen that we didn't know much about were Antiseen and Total Chaos. They were both very hardcore.

Kazaa friendly enough? Go after AFI's new one Sing the Sorrow if you don't have it already. It's good.:)

I downloaded some tracks from the two bands you mention.

Antiseen are a local band for you - from North Carolina - and they're very similar to a band local to me, Ten Benson. The latter are very good live, but their music doesn't come across so well when recorded.

Total Chaos are the sort of hardcore punk that I wanted to hear - a throwback to the English bands of years ago. I think I'll download a few more and decide which of their albums I'll buy. I hope they tour the UK at some time - there's a local club that was made for them.

I'm familiar with all the bands you mention from the Warped tour, and of course Rancid stand out from the rest. They're touring the UK soon but they're playing big venues. If I can't see Rancid in a club then I don't really want to see them!

The AFI album you mention is really good, and I love Davey Havok's voice. Not the sort of thing I'd buy, though - mp3's will do.

There are a few other bands on the Warped tour that I'd like to see:

Face To Face are (in my opinion) one of the better pop-punk bands (though I haven't heard too much of them).

Coheed and Cambria are a bit lightweight, perhaps, but interesting.

Matchbook Romance I like a lot. The singer doesn't have a great range - a bit monotone - but the band are pretty good in the post-hardcore sense. Again, possibly a bit lightweight for you.

Enjoy! 28th July - not too long to wait!

    :D

    Sorry been busy guys.....

Coheed and Cambria suck.. Don't even waste your time. I saw them with the Used.. I gave them the Metallica salute..

S.T.U.N. is a great band and I look forward to seeing them on the warped tour. They did a punk cover of "another brick in the wall" and renamed it "another brick through the wall". I can't really find anything from them on Kazaa. Keep looking for them.

The Explosion opened for A.F.I. when we saw them last. Great band.. lots of energy.

Other than these bands I haven't really ran across much else "new stuff" in the last few months that I have liked.. Although I would like to pick up the new Poison the Well album and new Dropkick Murphys.. Both should be grrreat!

Fuck it ... I'm going to put in some old misfits Haven't heard some good ol' punk in a while.... At this moment..

Vendetta Red: I've heard a few tracks of theirs and they're OK. To say they are a 'heavy pop band' is probably being too uncomplimentary, but they play 'songs'. That probably doesn't make much sense! I don't think you'll hate them, but I can't see you loving them either.

I'd never even heard of S.T.U.N. until I read your thread, then I downloaded 'The Movement' and 'Love and Chaos'. I don't know whether their CD has been released in the UK yet, but if it has then I'm buying it. Tomorrow!
