Given that what he said is a standard pre draft non statement that would be given so as to not tip ones hand either way it sounds like youre a lil bitch that wants to just say something contrary.

 

I still like that we didn't lame duck him. Been down that road before, no thank you. But I did not like giving him three years. Adding a year or even two would have been sufficient.


It really sucks because I see a potentially strong coaching pool filling up in the next few years.

 

I don't get why it's reasonable to let players finish out their contract but not coaches. The last year of Fox was horrible, but that was more because the divorce was inevitable and should have happened already. Rivera got his extension after two years of incompetence thanks to the defense performing at a level it won't repeat, and while demonstrating a level of ignorance or delusion that is a major warning sign. It takes ignorance or delusion to praise not only Byron Bell, but Mike Shula as well.

 

It's not just the HC, it's the entire staff. If you need to hire anyone, hard to get a good employee on a one year deal. And any guys we want to bring in or keep around.

I am not anti Rivera but would have only offered a one year extension and a reasonable salary bump, with assurances that another good year in '14 gets the long term deal.

 

I bet if Rivera would have won coach of the year you guys would not be bitching... oh, wait...........
