Get a fish cage. Makes it a lot easier.

I got this recipe from a Canadian that lived in British Columbia:

Marinate the salmon in olive oil, soy sauce, crushed garlic and chopped ginger. Let it set for about an hour. Grill it skin side down, close the grill lid and do not flip it. It'll be done in about 10 minutes.

It really is the best I have ever had.

Hmm, I reckon that just keeps it off the grill making for easier turning and more even cooking?

Good call, about every recipe I've found involves olive oil and soy sauce. That's the plan.

It will stick to the cage on both sides instead of just the grill on one side. When cooking salmon on the drill you really don't have to flip it so just grill it skin side down, if you are using fillets, and keep the top on the grill.

Not if you spray it with PAM. It holds the fish together. Allows you to flip it if you want. And lets you buy skinless filets which marinate better.

Its very simple if you know what you're doing.

Have a hot, clean, seasoned grill to start. Remove the skin...it's useless. Rub the fish with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and place good side down on the grill. Let 4 minutes go buy...lift the fish and turn 180 degrees for another 4 minutes. Flip it on the other side turn off grill, put lid down and walk away. Finish other side items, set the table, crack open another beer. The fish will rest while it continues to cook covered on the grill off of direct heat.

If you have a hot, clean, seasoned grill and touch the fish as little as possible you should have success.
