The new stadium is about as far from the ghetto as it can get. I'm sure all the hoity toities in the Fisher Park historic district that were fighting the new location would be interested to learn they live in the slums

ha ha you're just jealous of our ballpark

Greensboro a slum? check this out. I don't recall seeing alot of historic preservation in uptown Charlotte. Check out some downtown Greensboro photos.

I'm from Greemsboro and lived here all my life. Greensboro is ran down and real old and shitty looking down town. This ball park my provide a new life for downtown, but you can only polish a piece of shit so much.

Ghetto part of GSO is across downtown, across the tracks closer to Lee. There are some lesser parts of GSO, yes. But Fisher Park, and up Elm, is very beautiful. Heading west gives miles of historic and expensive homes.

The biggest thing I don't get about downtown Greensboro is that they keep putting up parks, keep putting up huge complexes that knock out city streets and create these tremendous city blocks. Which is the goal? Being friendly to walking around downtown, or having to walk 1/4 mile past a building with no entrance on that side and not even ground level windows in some cases? There doesn't seem to be any actual planning going on past the actual structures they're putting up on impact of neighboring blocks or even buildings.

That ghetto across the railroad tracks is now being transformed to a gem. See for yourself.
