    nobody said "great".
I'm still very concerned about the way this offense is supposed to be built.

I don't think you would want to use Lewis as a #3 by any stretch of the imagination. He's pretty much just a return guy.

I am impressed with Henning's indirect frankness. He tells everyone their job is on the line with out naming names publicly. He insinuates by naming positions, but when he speaks of specific players he highlights the positives before mention of areas of needed improvment. Classy as a person, but he's still middle of the road as a play caller.
Mags, I think St. Pierre would be a fine developmental prospect if we don't get Palmer or Boller ealier. Better than Fasani anyway. He's familiar with Hennings and his system and wasn't a one year starter in college (3 years I think). Hennings obviously will favor him later in the draft as he was a Hennings recruit at BC.
Kids got some good raw skills, add some polish and the benefits of a simplified system that won't put it all on the QB and he could be a good one in 2 years under Peete and a good QB coach.
Not that playing for Hennigns means squat, but it does give a guy a head start in the scheme and lessens the learning curve a bit.

that's great, but we don't need developmental prospects. The few polished turds in the second day rise with good teams, not bad ones. I'm sure St. Pierre's a wonderful prospect, but I'm tired of settling for scraps.

Careful Mags. Keep that kinda talk up, and someone might get the impression that you're not a fan of Dan Henning.

well, beats lauding him for being obvious and having told the press our options in the draft are WR or OL.

Is he freakin' senile? You don't ever play your hand to the press. That's just plain stupid.

He did not reveal any hidden agendas. Like Magnus said, he just stated the obvious for those who wanted to hear it. Nothing to be worried or upset over, and certainly nothing to get excited over. In fact, you might even say that what he "let out" is that we could draft just about anyone so if you are behind us "your" target might not be safe. He also said to Cincy, Palmer's great, you should draft him. We'll trade with you if you don't want him, but don't expect a hell of a lot from us.

He also told Brad Hoover's agent to ask for a little more. Hurney might not be thrilled about the timing of that endorsement.
