its cool....does he have a spot fo rnext season though? A healthy May, Okafor...Ely...you can never have enough bigs, but if they get a big man, he may become expendable. Lonny Baxter didn't do much to show me hes gonna stick around.

    Next year's roster:
    Felton
    Okafor
    May
    Wallace
    Brezec
    Anderson
    Ely
    Carroll
    Jones
    Robinson?
    Knight?
    Voskuhl?
    (2006 pick)

I could see Burleson being gone, along with Baxter. Knight should be back, at least for one more year. Heck, he's only 30.

Some people in this area will never give the Bobcats a chance. After growing up with the Hornets, I can't honestly blame them. It's not the Bobcats fault, it's the NBA and Shinn's fault. There are just a certain *large* segment of old Hornet fans that aren't coming back regardless of the product.

You're clueless as usual. DJ_Tet already covered the fact that the Bobcats haven't done a damn thing to court people fed up with the NBA after the Hornets fiasco. Prices have been entirely too high, and they're only dropping them now because no one is going to the games. Then tell me I'm wrong about the players not playing as hard as they did last season, or tell me that the team didn't give up on the season and shelve guys who could have played. I understand that you have to look to the future at some point, but it's not as if they're saving these guys up for some kind of playoff run. Some of those players should have been back out on the court, earning their money and giving fans a reason to watch.

The arena looks beautiful, but I haven't found the motivation to go inside of it. Not that I give a flying fuck about the NBA anymore, but it would be cool to have another winning product in town someday.

The big question about knight is he willing to be a back up PG.Or would he ask for a trade so he can start at PG for anther team every game.

Last time I checked, lowering prices is something they did in fact do. In fact, that's a pretty big thing to do. I believe that counts as "a damn thing".

They also moved off of that stupid C-Set and at least got on normal cable.

Hell, they even played got a game on the air in HD. Not a big thing, but I enjoyed it.

The results? They brought about 2000 more people to each game than last year.

So there are 3 "damn things" and the results of them.

You're wrong? I dunno, it's hard to quantify how hard guys play. I don't think Felton could be accused of not giving max effort. You certainly can't say Gerald Wallace doesn't give max effort. About the only guy who looks like he's cruising out there is Primoz. If he gets more rebound yanked away by a guy who's half a foot shorter than him, I'll personally talk Bickerstaff into cutting him :|

Regardless, these guys exceeded expectations. They had quite a few injuries and still pulled out 8 more wins than they did last year, outpacing the Knicks and the Hawks, who both have more talent than the Bobcats, as well as the Trail Blazers - who just suck.

While I'm sure you've got your reasons why you feel they didn't play as hard as they did last year, I certainly don't think anyone can legitimately accuse them of mailing it in at any point.

The future isn't the playoffs, the future is next year, and even more so the year after, where there's a bumper crop of free agents and draftees. I'm sure in your drive to hate on the Bobcats you're all offended at what happened with Okafor and May, but I really believe that Bickerstaff did the right thing by basically putting them on the IR.

And to your other point, I'm not clueless. I simply have a different opinion than you do.

After raising prices before the season, correct? They only agreed to lower prices back again when no one was coming. Between Johnson's statements about how it wasn't his responsibility to court Charlotte fans back along with stating that his intention was to make a profit regardless of whether or not they won games, and the fact that his actions have backed up those words, there hasn't been any reason for casual sports fans to embrace the Bobcats. NBA nuts will get screwed and come back for more, just like the NHL nuts, but the Bobcats have done absolutely nothing for people who were willing to give the team a second chance but didn't particularly care if they existed at all.
After two years. Isn't the damage already done by now? Johnson again proved that he's greedy and that he cares about money far more than anything else, so the potential fans have already turned away.
Bullshit, dude. They sold more corporate tickets, but I have a friend who goes to Bobcats games regularly and he tells me that the arena is almost always empty during the week, and never full even for a weekend game. Whatever they announce in terms of gate receipts is far, far different from the number of fans who actually show up. And even then, the Bobcats are still among the worst in the league in attendance.
The team is lucky to have Wallace, and Felton appears to have turned it on as well, but they're just not scrambling for loose balls or crashing the boards or playing tight defense the way they did last year. There is a lack of effort out there that makes the games less fun to watch than they were last year. Maybe it had something to do with management sitting every potential contributor that had a boo boo, but the team definitely looked like it had been on cruise control for months now.
Hardly. Before the season people were talking about 30 wins, and if not for that late season stretch where everyone they played was resting most of their starters, they wouldn't have made it to 25.
Wrong. It's fine if you disagree, but it's asinine of you to make a stupid statement like the suggestion that no one can "legitimately accuse them of mailing it in." You can legitimately accuse them of that because injured guys never came back, much of the team didn't play with any urgency, and the organization approached this season as if it were just practice. They might have had less talent and won fewer games last year, but I at least felt like there was a desire to do well. This year there was nothing but a desire to wait for some future year where they hope to do well.
I don't see how Okafor could miss 56 games due to a sprained ankle. I know bad those can be, but that's a really long time to be out, and I've never heard of anyone else missing that many games because of one. Then I don't have any idea how serious May's cartilage issue was, although historically players haven't missed as much time as May did with just a clean-up procedure (3-4 weeks is what you usually see with a scope like that), but drafting him was a dumb move in the first place.

And no, you are clueless. You always have been clueless and I'm betting that you always will be. Remember also that you chose to attack me, not the other way around (which just so happens to be more evidence of your cluelessness).

Honestly I could see them trading Knight at this point. Felton looks solid, and it would free up a pot to take a shot at a free agent scorer. This will be the first season in which they'll have the cap room to make some moves. I'm hoping they don't make too many, because next year's crop is WAY WAY WAY better than this year's group. Lebron, Carmelo, and Wade will all be free agents. Just to name a couple.
