yeah, I'm wavering from the B+. I'd say the players they had gave it all they could but I think the final 4 games have given an inaccurate impression.

I don't know that they'll be substantially better next year - in fact, I'm not sure they want to be, as the draft will be much stronger next year, as will the FA market.

I'd say tank next year, draft Greg Oden, sign Vince Carter (or another high level SG) and then go nuts :)

But as for what they've done this year? B+ is good. The injuries hurt, and I don't know that the May pick was that great - I still think they should have gone with Danny Granger, though it's hard to say they didn't need the additional big men. Felton has exceeded expectations. G Wallace keeps getting better - somebody get that man a shooting coach.

I'm pleased. 4 game winning streak to end the season was nice.

I can't wait until they're gone. Bob Johnson hasn't given anyone a reason to care, the players didn't play as hard as they did last season, and they let everyone give up when they had even the most minor of injuries. Fuck the Bobcats.

Voskuhl was roster filler. It's not like he emerged as some all-world threat. He's a good pro, but his skills are not at the same level as Okafor for example.

    My grade is B-

A team not expected to do much, still won 26 games including 5 of their last 7. Injuries killed this bunch from the start.

A year older, a year wiser, and a healthier team could make them a contender for an 8th seed in playoffs next season....lots to do before then, but I could see them being in the hunt come April...

Don't remember saying he was all-star level, but he certainly contributed more than I anticipated. Of course, had May and Okafor been healthy he would have never had that chance.

edit--in case you forgot this thread, I bemoaned Jake being traded for, while you basically said he wouldn't make the team. Not only did he make the team, he actually had a few decent games.

I didn't think he would stick, and yes he had some very good games. My opinion (at the outset) was that his minutes would be minor compared to May and Okafor, but of course injuries being what they were, he contributed a helluva lot more than even he thought he would.

In the end, the Bobcats were lucky to have him.

EDIT--and in my previous post, I should have underlined (or something) that he was roster filler at the start of the year...he certainlty was far more than that as it went along. My bad for not making that a little clearer.

It's all good, I hope you didn't think I was implying you were the only one wrong about Voskuhl. No one was more wrong about him than I was. I'd like to see him back next year, and I doubt a second round pick would have helped as much as he did in retrospect.
