Looking at the bobcat's Season I think i have to grade them a A+.if you tell me before the start of the season that the Bobcat's would win 26games 9more then last year and without emeka okafor for most of the season and also Sean May and with Gerald Wallace playing in just 53games .It amazing what Bernie Bickerstaff has did in 2season from 17wins with okafor .I think next with a high draft pick and with the Emeka for ones staying healthy for 82games and with May becomeing a better player. And with Raymond Felton starting at PG for 82games for the cat's next year.I think they and should win 40games or more next year and make the playoff.I think had the bobcat's stay healthy this year. This team could have made a deep run to the playoff. And one more note.Where are this people that said on Draft day. That picking Raymond Felton with the 5th pick was way high for the kind of player he is .I think Raymond Felton and Gerald wallace and Emeka are all going to play in the all start game in few years maybe next year. This was a good a very year for the cat's Next Year the Cat's should make it even a better year by makeing the playoff

Just judging the Bobcats themselves, I'd say I agree with Chip, B+. They probably fucked up with the May pick, but time will tell. Okafor's injury shouldn't be that big a concern, ankles can heal and at least it wasn't his back.

Judging by the 'excitement' here and out in Charlotte in general, I'd say D-. They have done a bad job trying to repair the bridges burned by the NBA, almost like they thought it wasn't their responsibility. The people in this town are still hurt by the Hornets, and pretending the whole thing didn't happen (while sticking the taxpayers with the bill) hasn't engendered them to anyone here.

I don't care about the business aspect of it all though, I want a winning team. And for two years in, we've got 2.5 players (Felton, Wallace, and Okafor's been a half so far). That's pretty good, the Hornets only had one player (Bogues/Curry making up a half apiece) until they got LJ, so they are ahead of them in that regard.

They are also ahead of them in winning percentage, although the NBA is worse now than it was when the Hornets started. The Hornets also spent their second season in the Western Conference. All in all I'm pleased with the start of the franchise.

B to B+. considering the injuries they have fared well. that and the lack of talent/depth. Felton is easily the second best rookie behind Paul.He will start next year. May was producing before he went down. they have some players worth holding on to.Wallace, Jones, Ely
they wont get a big name FA for a while so hope they draft well.

4 game win streak going into the offseason is great. expect some improvement next year. playoffs in the East is always a possibility, no matter who you are.

Wallace he is sign for 2more years. As far Jones i believe he is sign for 1more year. The bobcats need to sign or draft a C and they also need a backup PG.I hope that the bobcat's can trade Brevin Knight For a 1st rd pick or a player.Btw if Bernie Bickerstaff is not back next year as bobcat's coach who would you like to see coach the cat's

Bobcats wont take a huge step for another year/draft. I see no reason why BB cant do it for one more year. there is really no need to waste a year on someone if they dont have a real candidate in place to take over for BB

Silas is always mentioned as a coach. depending on who else is available I would take him for a while.

From Charlotte.com It was post on charlotte .com about a week ago .

    Bickerstaff coaching his final season?
Bernie Bickerstaff always said he’d review whether he should keep coaching at the end of every season. But I suspect this review will be more than cursory.

I asked Bickerstaff Sunday whether he could picture Raymond Felton and Brevin Knight continuing as the Bobcats’ starting backcourt beyond this season.

"I don’t have any fear of doing that,’’ Bickerstaff replied, "but a lot of issues have to be resolved.’’

In other words, Bickerstaff might not be the one deciding who’s a starter in November. He’s always said he’d kick himself upstairs someday to concentrate exclusively on being general manager.

Bickerstaff says he’ll make this decision after the season is over, and it will hinge on whether he believes, at 62, he has the energy to fill both jobs effectively.

Personally, I’d like to see him coach one more season, to get the team on stable footing for the next guy. It was wise to have one man in both jobs, because Bickerstaff has stuck to the long view over immediate gratification.

Since the playoffs are nothing imminent, that long view is still the way to go.

I agree. No way we do anything next year either, and if we did it would set the franchise back. We need two more lottery picks because even IF we could sign a good FA, I don't believe Bob WOULD. I guess he can prove me wrong when he signs Dwyane Wade next summer :trophy:

Still, this summer I'd like to see us lock up Wallace with some good cash and years. He's only 23 and had a monster season. Sure he didn't get in as many games as I'd like, but man, one of three players ever to average 2+ blocks and rebounds in a game. We were lucky no one paid him last year, I think we should try and take care of that now.

As much crap as I give May, he was putting up numbers. I like a lot of our players, hell even Voskuhl showed some things even after Solarte tried to proclaim him as roster filler in my thread.

I'd like Bernie to stick around (god I can't believe I just typed that) because he HAS gotten this team to play hard every night, through all the injuries. It's been fun to watch, and like you said, no reason to replace the coach just to do so. If he's got another year in him he should stick around. I'm a big Paul Silas fan though so if we had a shot to get him I'd be ok with that as well.

How about Alan Anderson at the end of the year? I hated to see him sit tonight but I'm excited to see what he can do next year. Sometimes you see things click for young players like 'Hey I CAN play in this league' and it appears Anderson clicked. Hopefully he can keep going next year.
