Let us know how it looks and plays. I'm thinking of picking it up, but I wasn't thrilled with the demo and I'm not sure I want to get this and Madden.

I normally get both. I like to trade in the old versions to get a little credit towards the new ones.

yeah, I'd like to hear how it plays.

I'm still fine playing my NCAA 07. I went ahead and got the all pro football by the nfl 2k5 guys.

So far I like it. Recruiting in Dynasty is harder than before. Game play is decent except for following each play it seems to pause for a second before switching to a replay or to a control screen. Its nothing that screws up your ability to play or the overall game, but it was enough that I noticed it. Its hard as hell to throw now. DBs play a lot better. Well at least the guys I played against did.

I didn't get a chance to play much so far, but I'm surprised at how much of a thrill it was to don my high school colors again.

NCAA looks and plays well, but campus legend mode is fraught with frustration. Practice gets annoying quickly, and there really isn't anything else to that mode besides practicing and playing games. The real kicker, though, is that your play-caller is infinitely more stupid than any computer opponent you'll actually play. I can't even count how many times it has called for a screen on third and short, or how often it just abandons the running game when the RB is the team's best player (because I'm the RB). Plus it seems to do that "I'm not letting you win" thing from time to time where my team is either leading or about to take the lead and I fumble or throw an interception on literally the next three possessions in a row. That's vexing.

I actually managed to win the Heisman (on All-American) with Carolina in my first year as their tailback. The rest of the team absolute sucked balls, though. Despite me rushing for 2500+ yards and 36 touchdowns, we still lost to East Carolina and Duke, among others.

    Edit:
This game cheats. I've probably had four to five times as many turnovers as my opponents, and most seem to come either when I'm close to my own end zone, close to their end zone, or late in the game when I have the lead. On one occasion I was leading Virginia Tech 31-7 early in the 4th quarter when I had turnovers on three consecutive plays, two of which were returned for touchdowns. The cover button does nothing to prevent fumbles as far as I can tell, although it is somewhat useful for breaking tackles.

NCAA is making me incredibly frustrated. I actually appreciate interceptions when I do something stupid and throw into coverage. What I don't like are defensive ends making one-handed picks, LBs leaping six feet into the air to tip passes anywhere near them, or my passes occasionally going directly to a defender instead of the receiver I was throwing to. In the haste to put new handicaps on the passing game, they've instead just made the game stupidly cheap. I don't mind difficulty, but I hate games that force bad things to happen even when you do everything right.
