Good carbs verses bad

I am on the adkins aka "keep that sugar away from me" diet. I stroll down the aisle and look for one of those reduced carb candy bars from EAS that says 4g of impact carbs. I see only the 4 grams and say "Sweet, a snack" Well sure enough after gobbling it down I look at the wrapper and the bitch says 21 grams of carbs! Hell I havn't put more than 12 grams in my body in day in a week and to blow it all on a nasty ass tasting candy bar, what gives! Am I supposed to only count the sugars? Are some carbs ok verses others? Also what is this alcohol in low carb bars that would give you a wicked case of the shits if eaten.

 

You only count the 4g of impact carbs. The rest of the grams are either fiber or sugar alcohol grams which don't count towards your total carb count. Only 4 of those 21 grams will have an impact on sugar level which is what you want to control. EAS has a really good bar out that I like - Chocolate cream pie. I eat one for breakfast every morning!!
