Bitter? No, just calling it like I see it. And claiming that he is even close to the same level as Ripken when he mailed it in his last 3 years in Boston because he was sulking is pure BS.

I didn't say he was like Ripken. I used Ripken as an example of the only person that I can think of who was with them the same team forever.

OK. He's still an asshole though.

And just off the top of my head I can think of a pretty good number of guys

    Smoltz
    Chipper
    Larkin
    Jeter
    Biggio
    Bagwell
    Frank Thomas

    and of course David Wells.

Because they are the only MLB team that personally means anything to me.

That's what I was asking - why do they mean something to you? Did you grow up in Houston?

I'm not trying to say you shouldn't be a fan or anything, I am just curious how you came to like them.

If this World Series is The White Sox vs. Astros it's gonna be the worst World Series ever. I rather watch almost anything than a White Sox-Astros World Series

I hadn't been interested in baseball for years. Back in the 70's I liked the Cincinnati Reds. Then a couple of years ago I went to an Astros game with my family that lives down there and really enjoyed it. I loved the game, I loved the park, I became a fan. My brother is a huge sports junkie. My nephew ( he's 9 ) LOVES Biggio. He went down before a game and Biggio was so nice to him and after that I became a Biggio fan too.

Cool - I figured it was something with your brother since you had been talking about him evacuating.

Anyway, that was a Hell of a win last night and a Hell of a double play to end the game.

    PS - fuck Roger Clemens.
