    lidge will take his place next season as the most dominant closer in the game, surpassing gagne and smoltz. this kid has so much of an upside it is scary. he was the nastiest stuff in the NL, and neck and neck with k-rod for the nastiest stuff in the game today. he has, on several occasions this year, recorded 4 and 5 and 6 out saves and many times struck out every batter. i recall many 4 out saves where he struck out 3 or 4. kid is sick.

    Going to the bottom of the ninth - two one hit shut outs going on - this thing may go many extra innings like the sox/yankees

    ok, i'm watching now. couldn't turn away from the sox game, even during commercials, but i'm here now. very possibly the best night of baseball EVER. at least as far back as i can remember.
