They're kind of like a paranormal 'Mythbusters'. The show airs on the Sci-Fi channel.

My oldest son loves this show. He got me and my wife watching it as well. It is a cool show. One of the more compelling shows or segments was when they were in St. Augustine, I believe, at an old lighthouse and they captured an image of what looked like a little kid looking down at them from the top of the lighthouse stairs. When they got to the top no one was there of course and there was no way to get down past them. Cool.

I'm still watching, and they've come up with some really interesting stuff lately, especially with thermal imaging and digital audio.

How does your belief in ghosts (assuming you believe in them) mesh with your Christian faith? Please note, I'm not challenging you here, I'm genuinely interested.

I had a few ideas about the existence of ghosts before I started watching this show, and some of those I now question. Before, I thought that "ghosts" were more than likely demonic entities masquerading as people who had passed on. But after watching that show and seeing the wide spectrum of manifestation and behavior of supernatural encounters people have, I'm re-thinking my theories about the paranormal.

To answer your question, there is a verse in the New Testament (1 Peter 3:19) that talks about Jesus "ministering to the souls in prison" after He died on the cross. This indicates to me that there may be a 'middle ground' of sorts between death and judgment, especially for those who have neither renounced or accepted Jesus as the Gospels describe Him. In other words, I think it's possible that non-Christians may be stuck here on earth after they die until the final judgment which will occur when Jesus returns to establish His kingdom. The patterns and behaviors I've seen on Ghost Hunters seem to support this theory. But it's just a theory -- a possibility, nothing I would even begin to think of as truth or solid fact.
