You're a pretty big fan Sly. Is an adaptation where they make fundamental changes to characters gonna be okay with you?

Actually, I'm also worried about the entire Danearys storyline. That's gonna be a bitch to film and might lose some people.

OK? Not at all. But look at what they did to LOTR. Elves at Helm's Deep? Its gonna happen. Probably more so with Martin's works.

Well...I'm about 100 into the first one and it's starting to get good. Took awhile to figure out the characters and the relationships...

I agree--casting Tyrion is hugely important to the whole project. If they fuck that up, the whole series will crumble. I don't keep up enough with current film & TV to have a clue who might work in the role.

Tyrion is a dwarf. I don't remember for certain, but it seems to me that a dwarf is not the same thing as a midget. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember reading that there's some essential difference....guess I'll have to look that up later.

There are possibly some creative ways to deal with Tyrion's dwarfism that would work. Regardless of how that's handled, whoever plays the role will have to have an amazing emotional range, & be able to put things across in very subtle ways. It'll be a real challenge to cast & to perform.

Okay...I'm officially in "don't put the fucking book down territory." This is good stuff. I'm hooked. And Tyrion needs to be played by a midget with a fucked up face.

too late now - but the perfect actor for Tyrion would have been the dwarf that played Dr. Loveless on the Wild Wild West tv show.

Second book is better than the first.

Third drags during certain points of view. And then the 4th returns to greatness.

There is a midget pirate in the Pirates of the Carribean movies that would be good
