What an egotistical PUSSY. His skills are so over done. He is pissed at the Lakers for trading him to the Celtics. Wake up Gary anyone is apt to be traded at anytime. You are still going to get paid

If he really signed there for less money to play for a championship last year then I can see why he did not appreciate being traded. That would be like Moose signing a deal to play for us at the minimum next year so he can finish his deal in Carolina and then we traded him.

the Lakers assured him before he exercised his option that he would be around, and without the triangle offense he could be more like the player he was , not 3-4th option. they pulled a Carlos Boozer move on him. the dumb Celtics should have known he wouldn't be happy with the trade. everybody knows he is a west coast guy.

The point is that he excercised an extension that he would NEVER GET this year, money-wise. He signed for more money this year than he would have ever got on free-agency, so it's really nothing like your analagy. He did sign originally for less money, but that was last year, this year he had an out, didn't take it, and is now bitching. I still don't blame him though, he took money the Lakers offered him for this year, they shouldn't be using him as a bargaining chip. It's not like he signed with a team for the min though. If that "out" wasn't in his contract, Payton would be lucky to make half what he'll make this year, considering his performance of last year.

He played half a season in Milwaukee last year. I don't see how the Celts have any blame in this? The Lakers are a bunch of pricks to try and trade the one HOF they have under contract that actually wants to come back for year two.
