Anyone here tried 'square foot gardening'? A friend of mine tried it last year and had amazing results. He built four 4'x4' boxes and that produced more veggies and herbs than he ever would have imagined. He said he was going to build a few extra boxes this year and sell at the local farmer's market.

That's something I'd like to do when I own again. I don't want to tear up the owners yard and build that stuff for one possible two seasons.

I haven't tried that, but this fall, I intend to raise my veggie garden plot. I'm not too thrilled with how it's coming so far using the dirt I have. It's good, composted dirt, but the ground doesn't drain as well underneath it. Plus, I want something that looks good when it comes time to sell in 5 years.
