yeah, but Bellichick has Norris-vision at halftime. :bath:

anyway, my concern is unfounded and I"m not worried that much about it. I don't have a good reason for the streakiness, though, and that is a worry for me right now.

We've always kinda sucked at momentum. Not creating it, but sustaining it and making the most out of it. I just don't think there's any measurable way to figure out why. It would be a bigger concern if we hadn't had success in the past, or if Fox hadn't proved his ability to pull us out of slumps.

Once the defense gets its act together and finds a way to cover up our weak safeties we will be fine. If the offense averages in the twenties we should win a lot of games.

Beats me, and i think thats what the article is trying to get to. We dont seem to have that leader on defense that can shake things up. That lets it be known its not good enough and its time to step up. Minter was that guy i guess, and he was a DB. Peppers just doesnt have that fire it seems. Its rather sad to look around the squad when their being driven on, heads down and looking lost. Maybe Beason can be that guy in time.
Id love to have a Brian Dawkins back there or as the article suggests a Ray Lewis. I wonder what effect that type of guy in the middle would make.

I dont know tho, lost in all this is how solidly the Texans played. That wasnt the same team as years past. That team will do some damage this year.

We have, and playcalling seems to have something to do with it.

Momentum started swinging with the short kickoff. The Viking game last year is another that screams at me.

"Over the past few years, they've leaned heavily in the draft toward accomplished players from major programs. Having guys from Southern Cal, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Miami is a good thing, because that's where the talented kids go. But the flipside to having so many high-profile rookies is they've never had to scrap to be great -- they're maybe a little too cool for the proceedings.

After you've played in front of 100,000 weekly, been serenaded by the Song Girls, had your family watch every game on national television and been either lauded or vilified by millions, that Sunday 1 p.m. start against Houston might not be that big a deal. They played that way, and it's hard to tell from what we've seen if they're capable of changing it, or if they even care to."

I've thought this for a while....

Most teams get their top draft picks from top programs. That's where the talent is, folks. But since we never play with heart, I guess we should start drafting guys from Sam Houston St. or Chucklefuck A&M.

I guess this should go in another thread but I don't get how Houston starting a drive at their 35 YL is a momentum changer. The week before, giving the Rams the ball deep in our territory, that should have been a helluva momentum changer and might have been had the D not risen and held them to a FG.

The immediate big yardage completion that was quickly followed by a TD catch would have a lot more to do with it, IMO. As in, then they knew they could play with us.
