Game Platforms

I only have a 32" in the bedroom. I just plan on using the unit to destress. Killing things help me relax after a stressful day at work.

 

PS2 - way more games. Xbox - way better graphics.

gameplay is more important that graphics, tho. good graphics will not make a bad game any better and bad graphics can't bring a good game down.

also, while ps2 has more games, the number of games on xbox is pretty good and covers all the areas you'd likely ever need. ps2 has tons of really obscure games that you'd have to be a real freak to get a kick out of. each has its own set of exclusive titles so make of that what you will.

The xbox library is nowhere near as expansive as PS2. Not even close. There are about 15 games exclusive to xbox that are worth playing. There are hundreds on PS2. If you are looking to play a lot of games (especially roleplaying games and fighting games), Xbox is not worth having. The system really just doesn't have many great games. I can think of about 30 games off the top of my head that I love on my PS2 that the Xbox will never have. It is getting better, but if I were looking to buy a system off of more than just the big titles that will be on both platforms, PS2 owns Xbox. It's not even close. ANd I'm not just talking Square Enix games (I hate final fantasy).

The Koei games are finally coming out on Xbox, but there are more and better games on PS2 from them. Suikoden, Dark Cloud 2, Devil May Cry, Mark of Kri, and so on and so forth. Waaaaaay better games, waaaay crappier system. PS2s are prone to falling apart, they get dusty easily and are piece of crap systems. Xbox is sturdier and will likely last longer.

 

I curious the people that are badmouthing the XBOX... do you actually HAVE an XBOX? Because I'd respect your opinion a little more if you have both. Serious question.

 

It sounds like you're comfortable with the playstation2. So why not just get one? People's opinions are people's opinions, I don't know much about the systems honestly, but I've played on playstations and I feel good with them, know enough about them that I'd enjoy one if I wanted one. That's all any of this is about, so go with what you know.

The PS3's a good idea, but unless you like really high markup, might be a while before you can spend out the anus for a gaming system.

:applause: I wish more people that backed the PS2 would say this instead. Kudos mags you hit the nail on the head. I like the XBOX in comparison, but if a person is more comfortable with one or the other they should go that route if they are planning on putting money on something.

 

PS2 doesn't have Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic and soon to come out KOTOR 2. If you like RPG's you'll love it. Now as far as PS2 goes the next game I REALLY want from them will be Kingdom Hearts 2.
