See, this is exactly the problem. You don't remember, and yet you're running your mouth as if you did. Both the safety and the corner were deeper than Colbert when Jake threw the ball. They weren't fooled at all, and Jake should have simply thrown the ball away given that the defense hadn't been tricked. Instead he threw a duck into double coverage. And as noted, he also nailed a linebacker right in the chest (can't remember who it was) and had some other questionable throws. I've said all along that he made some very good plays and overall was most definitely a positive, but there clearly wasn't adequate representation of Jake's overall performance, which I thought could be related to the number of people saying that the game wasn't shown in their area (several of whom noted that Jake's stats were excellent). Jake had a good day, I just want those people to be aware that he still hasn't fixed his problems, which I want him to do.

It says something about people who actually saw the play perceived it, and the fact that it was such an obvious bad throw that there was a widespread and loud reaction to it.

    After all, anger = rationality.

Not really. I remember the play fine. Plus, I saw it on replay a number of times. But the bluster of you suggesting I hadn't remembered at all, because I said "If I remember right", that was fun.

Don't make me use the "drunken fan is always right" argument HeadCase does. What a few people gasped around you doesn't change my opinion. And it shouldn't. It shouldn't change what you actually saw, either, nor does where I watched the game with friends, or where you went to the game, matter for a single thing in having an opinion over it. I think when you see someone that said "wow, Jake must've had a perfect day because here are his stats. sorry I didn't get to see the game", you should yell at them.

Mags, Jake is obviously the only QB in the NFL who makes throws that might have been intercepted but werent.

Shout out to Dan Fucking Morgan and Julius Fucking Peppers...

didn't have career games, but were key factors all day...Peppers got pressure that put other guys in position to make plays, Morgan moves around like his shoulder ain't hurt

yes. Carstens isn't a fluke. He looks a lot stronger than last year, for one...Moorehead looked good, too. Not the greatest line to gauge against, but whatever.

It's funny that you keep saying "a few people," when it was a stadium-wide response. I take this to mean that you understand that you're wrong and thus are trying to spin it in any way you can. Good luck with that.

This kind of thing is what I'm talking about:
Anyway, how about we don't waste any more forum space with this, and simply disagree about whether or not Delhomme continued to display poor decision-making today?

watching the game on TV, Jake had some throws that could have been picked off...maybe a half a dozen or so...plus a fumble we kept from defensive holding...but that's Jake, that's always been Jake

but after you sit and watch the NFL Ticket for years, that's pretty much what goes on everywhere...espn highlites are just highlites

but this a fucking game ball thread after a big win, so stfu

No. I mean it to say that average uneducated fan paying attention doesn't equal expert analysis, and that having "been there" doesn't equal a better or more valid vantage point.

Sure. Yell at that guy. Or something.

Actually, it was about how me, Meatpile, and anyone else that gave a gameball to Delhomme was wrong to do so, apparently, because we couldn't hear the gasping. But yeah. I'm still fine with having given the guy a game ball. I thought he had a fine game. I thought he was a major difference-maker in the positive.
