Stanton Moore is pretty fly for a white guy.

"I've been around [the New Orleans music scene] my whole life. I'd go to the parade's and hear the bands passin' by and during Mardi Gras you hear music like Professor Longhair, the Meters no matter where you go. No matter if you're into it or not, you still hear it. Then eventually I started getting interested in it. My dad was a really big fan of all Mardi Gras music so we would listen to that music together. Then pretty soon I realized who it was I was listening to and the significance of it."

Galactic is the best band out on the scene by far these days. Do not miss a chance to see them live. It is life-altering (for me anyway :D )

As far as Stanton's stuff goes, I like All Kooked Out better than Flyin' the Coop, though both are high quality. The Garage A Trois and Moore & More stuff is real good too. In fact, GAT just released a new studio album a couple of weeks ago. Pretty damn good.

I saw them a few times back in 97 or so. They have become much more popular since then. They are alright. Funk, in my opinion, can become monotonous at times. I do remember the drummer being the best one though.
