worst news of all franchise. mr scully said during the 1st inning of tonights game that they performed an mri on his shoulder i think it was today. revealed a mild case of tendinitis. he IS NOT available tonight, and no decision has been made about tomorrows game. they are hoping they won't need him tomorrow, so it sounds like he might not be available tomorrow night. this could mean death.

apparently crossing your fingers didn't work. he will miss 3-4 days. otherwise known as mostly done for the regular season.

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers closer Eric Gagne was unavailable Wednesday night, but manager Jim Tracy hopes he can pitch Thursday when Los Angeles finishes a four-game series against the Rockies.

Gagne, who has 45 saves in 47 chances, is not expected to be out more than a few days.

Tracy said Gagne felt stiffness in his right shoulder when he played catch Tuesday and had an MRI, which revealed no structural damage. Gagne was diagnosed with tendinitis and bursitis Wednesday and had a cortisone injection.

"I think he will be available, in all likelihood, [Thursday] night," Tracy said. "This won't govern how we use him in the future. What will govern that is how he feels day to day."

Asked how Gagne was injured, trainer Stan Johnston told the Los Angeles Times, "Overuse, or it might have been warming up too quick."

"He will not pitch until the stiffness goes away. [The MRI results] are really good news. A lot of players have this. The important thing is to take care of it in a hurry."

Gagne, who's appeared in 69 games, told the newspaper that he thought the stiffness could have occurred from "sleeping on [the shoulder] the wrong way." He also told the Times he had experienced stiffness before in the elbow of his pitching arm, but never in the shoulder.

"It's like a dead arm," Gagne said.

Thats what ESPN is reporting. Where are you seeing he is done for the season? MLB, nothing, Dodgers.com, nothing, Dodgers fans message board, nothing.

i saw it scroll across on the espn ticker right before i posted that. said he was to miss 3-4 days.

    the following is from rotowire.....

Sep 30 Gagne is expected to miss 3-4 days with shoulder tendinitis, ESPNews reports.
Recommendation: An MRI on the stud closer's shoulder came up clean, which is good news, but the Dodgers aren't likely to turn Gagne loose too soon and risk an aggravation of the injury. We'll give you more as we know it.

like i said, he will be just fine. just went an inning but gave up the go ahead run. of course, the dodgers just tied it up. 12 of 19 were strikes, but he looked to be a little off.

looks like i had some bad info on this one.
