I wouldn't put Rogers above Leftwich - if only considering position. Rogers is a top talent - no question - but picking WR that high is always risky. Mags top 5 is solid though. Witten is good and could be a great TE in the NFL, but to pick a TE that high would suck IMO considering our other needs.

Roy Williams has looked a lot better lately IMO. He just looks a little more smooth and explosive than he did previously. I still don't think he maximizes his size like he should and isn't that physical - but he certainly has great potential. Maybe his injuries were holding him back more than I thought. If we got him, don't think I would cry about it.

If we're in the top ten, and you view things from a statistical perspective, our odds are very good at getting a franchise QB. 9 of the last 12 top ten QBs became their team's perm starting QB.

As far as who I like, Carson Palmer has a 4.5 40. He's showing that he has great leadership skills, and his character behind the scenes can't be beat. He can throw all the passes with zip, and he's big enough. In fact, as fat and rollie-poly as Leftwhich looks, I almost would rather take a skinnier QB and let him fill out a bit, a la Garcia and Montana. I think Carson Palmer's going to last longer than Leftwhich, who is still being bothered by some chronic injuries that I'll bet just get worse. Ragone's no good. Period.

As far as taking a WR, you can get plenty of them at just about any round. We need a speed burner to help stretch the field, and there are going to be plenty of those in this draft. Franchise QBs come far and few between, so we need to get one while we're still high enough to pick one this year.
