It is BCS job, so it has that going for it. And they did win a national championship. But I wasn't alive for it. They haven't won a conference championship in almost 20 years. The fanbase has high expectations, maybe impossible expectations.

No offense intended. I just don't see Clemson as the most desireable job in the ACC. I think as a coach you would rather end up at FSU, Miami or VT before Clemson.

He may have it now but what about next year? He is losing his QB, Crabtree will be back which will be helpful but he has enough talent, minus injury to be highly drafted next year. The only QB with experince beyond Harrell is Potts and he has only 200 yards passing. So QB will be a problem they have to address that problem. Texas's Colt McCoy will be back unless he gets drafted and Bradford will be back for Oklahoma, so they will of course be favored next year. I wouldn't blame him for leaving or staying because he has built a great program there, but you have to look to next year and down the road in order to make a good decision. If he feels the talent outside of Harrell and Crabtree is good enough he can contend with Texas and Oklahoma every year then he needs to stay. If he knows that his talent won't match up outside of his two playmakers, then he should get out and go to another program.

But at any ACC school, he would have to rebuild. And the new ACC hasn't shown itself to be a conference that is conductive to a national championship. You would have to go undefeated in the ACC to assure yourself a spot in the BCS title game, or the collective conference would have to improve.

At TTU, it is feasible that he sneak in a team with two losses, like LSU did last year. One loss in this age of college football is no where near as damning to teams in the best conferences, so at TTU, he is likely to have more leeway.

Crabtree is a sophomore, but he redshirted so I bet he bolts to the NFL after this year. He would definitely be a first rounder.

Staying another year will not do anything but hurt him when it comes to the draft.....:REGamblMoney01HL2:

Don't you get the feeling that Leach actually likes it in Lubbock. Perhaps if Texas or Okla opened, but he is god-like @ TT and getting ready to sign a huge contract. He is the new Flavor of the Month, but West Texas seems right for his personality
